Abstract

This is the curated, reconstructed patient-level survival data (time-to-event analyses) from the paper "Dynamic Risk of Death following Application of Paclitaxel Coated Devices in the Femoropopliteal Artery: A Contemporary Meta-analysis of Randomised Controlled Trials" published in EJVES (10.1016/j.ejvs.2026.01.030). Please refer to the accompanying Supplementary material for detailed extraction methods applied and validation methods of accuracy of reconstruction, where available. The uploaded Comma-Separated Values file contains the raw patient-level data for reproduction of the published results or further research and analyses. All statistical codes applied (R language) are included in the Supplementary Material. The individual patient data dataset is made freely available to interested parties for the purposes of further research. In case of further scientific output to be published, please communicate with the author(s) for an agreed study protocol.

Description: Raw patient-level data / each line corresponds to a single subject

Variables

trial: trial ID - refer to PTX key file for corresponding study names (note that the ILLUMENATE studies have been pooled as one trial; hence, there are 33 individual trials here, whereas 34 trials are mentioned in the published article)
treatment: treatment indicator for paclitaxel-coated balloon or stent treatment (1=YES, 0=NO)
time: maximum available follow-up time per individual case
event: indicator whether death has occurred (1=YES, 0=NO right censored)
device: name of the balloon or stent applied
dosage: nominal paclitaxel dose density contained in the device

Description:

This dataset provides a structured key of randomized controlled trials included in a contemporary meta-analysis of paclitaxel-coated balloons and stents. It summarizes core study characteristics, device attributes, and follow-up duration extracted from published literature. Data were extracted from published randomized controlled trials following systematic review methodology (PRISMA framework). Study characteristics were harmonized from trial reports, specifically Table 1 of the associated publication. Variables were standardized across studies to enable pooled analysis and comparison of device types, paclitaxel dosage, and follow-up duration.

Variable and Description

Trial ID: Unique identifier for each trial entry.
Trial name: Name of the clinical trial or study.
Year: Year of publication or reporting.
Device: Paclitaxel-coated device evaluated (balloon or stent).
Dosage (μg/mm2): Nominal paclitaxel dose density applied on the device surface.
max FUP: Maximum follow-up duration available in years.

Source

Variables were derived from the main characteristics of included randomized trials reported in Table 1 of the associated publication.

Usage Notes

This dataset contains aggregated study-level data and does not include individual patient data. It is intended for reproducibility, secondary analyses, and methodological research.

Human subjects data

De-identified survival outcome data provided following reconstruction of individual patient data from summary survival curves as explained in detail in the M&M section of the corresponding paper and supplement.
