Abstract
Data associated with article DOI: 10.1002/njb.05010. Includes the species-level network metric calculated for each pollinator species in 2018 and 2022, as well as the differences in metrics between years. Separately are shown the dataset for the analyses at the pollinator-group level and the species that appeared in both study years.

Description of the data and file structure
We collected data of interactions in 18 communities in 2018 and 2022
Files and variables
File: Pollinator_datafinal.xlsx
Description: for the analyses at the pollinator group level. Pollinator_datafinal.xlsx has three sheets: the first has the species-level network metrics for each pollinator each year (All), the second has the calculated differences (2022-2018) between network metrics averaged for each pollinator group at each study site (diff_metrics_withApis), and the third one contains the same as the previous one but excluding honyebees from the dataset (diff_metrics_withoutApis). Bellow we provide the legend for the variables in each sheet.
Variables: Sheet- All
-
Year - Study Year
-
Species - Pollinator species
-
Locality - Study sites
-
Pollinator_Group – Pollinator group (Ants, Bee, Beetles, Butterflies, Flies, Honeybees, Hoverflies, Wasps)
-
Sum_of_Interactions – total interaction recorded, used as an estimate of abundance
-
degree - species’ degree
-
species.strength - species’ strength
-
psi - species’ pollinator service index
-
d_prime - species’ specialization (d’)
-
conttonest - species’ contribution to nestedness
-
closeness_centrality - species’ closeness centrality
-
flower_richness - flower richness at each study site each year
-
flower_abu- flower abundance at each study site each year
n/a: not available data. These differences could not be calculated because we did not record any fly species in Esporles in 2022 that performed more than 5 visits to flowers.
Variables: Sheets- diff_metrics_withApis & diff_metrics_withoutApis
- Locality - Study sites
- Pollinator_Group - Pollinator group: Bee, Beetles, and Flies (which includes Flies and Hoverflies). In the sheet ‘diff_metrics_withApis’ honeybees are included within the Bee group, whereas in ‘diff_metrics_withoutApis’ they are not.
- diff_Sum_of_Interactions – difference in pollinator abundance in the community between 2022 and 2018
- diff_Richness – difference pollinator richness in the community between 2022 and 2018
- diff_degree – difference in average degree between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_d_prime – difference in average specialization (d’) between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_species.strength – difference in average strength between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_psi – difference in average pollination service index (PSI) between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_conttonest – difference in average contribution to nestedness between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_closeness_centrality – difference in average closeness centrality between 2022 and 2018 per pollinator group and study site
- diff_flower_richness – difference in flower richness in the community between 2022 and 2018
- diff_flower_abu – difference in flower abundance in the community between 2022 and 2018
